SEC-2026
The 15th Structural Engineering Convention an international conference sponsored by the Indian Association for Structural Engineering (IASE), will be held at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad. In 1997, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and CSIR- Structural Engineering Research Centre (SERC) in Chennai started this biennial event, which has now expanded to fourteen conventions across the country. Now, IIT Hyderabad is hosting the fifteenth convention. The primary objective of SEC-2026 is to advance and uphold a safe and sustainable construction industry in India. The conference will feature a diverse array of traditional paper presentations from researchers around the globe, complemented by keynote addresses from distinguished invited speakers. In addition, the event will facilitate in-depth discussions on cutting-edge technologies and emerging challenges in the field of structural engineering. The IIT Hyderabad community is honored to host SEC-2026 and extends a warm invitation to all professionals, researchers, and industry stakeholders to participate and contribute to this significant event.
Message from Prof. Tarun Kant, Founding President, IASE
I am extremely happy that IIT Hyderabad has come forward to host the 15th edition of the Structural Engineering Convention (SEC) in 2026. Under the aegis of the Indian Association for Structural Engineering (IASE), this biennial gathering brings together young and experienced engineers working in academia, research organizations and the private sector industry to showcase their structural engineering achievements with a focus to advance its research, development, application, and real-world practice. This has been one of main objectives of the convention since its inception over quarter of a century ago. I have no doubt that the organizing team of SEC 2026 will continue to provide an enriching platform for participation and collaboration; from not only within India but also outside of the country, that supports, encourages, and promotes exchange of novel ideas, ground-breaking methodologies, and inspiring success stories in the flourishing field of structural engineering. I convey my best wishes for the success of SEC 2026.
