Water Resources Engineering is offering the following programs,

PhD in Water Resources Engineering.

M. Tech. in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering (EWRE) in association with Environmental Engineering group. Currently, 2-year (MHRD funded) and    3-year (project funded) MTech programs offered in the EWRE.

Following are some of the research areas that the faculty currently pursuing, i.e, surface hydrology, groundwater hydrology, transport in porous medium, hydrogeology, remote sensing and GIS, climate sciences and applications, statistical modeling, agriculture water management and contaminant hydrology.

PhD positions available in funded projects starting from August 2019:

1. The project deals with Mathematical Modeling of Fluid Flow and Nanoparticle Transport in Porous Media. This is a collaborative project between IITH and IITB. Candidates having strong mathematical skills and an interest to work in flow and transport in porous media are encouraged to apply.

2. Urban Flood Modeling – A Web-based decision tool. The project supported by the Department of Science & Technology, DST, SPLICE, Climate Change Programme. This is a collaborative project between IIT Hyderabad and IIT Bhubaneswar.

3. An Experimental Operational Hydrologic Modeling and Forecasting System for River Basin Hydrology and Extremes for India. The project supported under Monsoon Mission of Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Earth System Sciences Organization (ESSO) of Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Government of India. This is a collaborative project with University of Colorado at Boulder and IIT Gandhinagar.
