Department Post Graduate Committee (DPGC)

The Departmental Post-Graduate Committee (DPGC) monitors the academic progress of postgraduate students. It is supported by faculty advisors or DPGC members representing each specialization, who act as the primary point of contact for students regarding all academic matters.

The committee comprises a Convenor, the Head of the Department, and at least four faculty members. The DPGC Convenor serves as the primary lead of the committee and holds the following roles and responsibilities:

Roles & Responsibilities

Monitor and oversee the implementation of the Master’s and Ph.D. curricula, ensuring that any changes or updates are tracked and incorporated.

Coordinate the scheduling and offering of requisite courses and electives to fulfill the curriculum requirements for Master’s and Ph.D. programs.

Assign duties to teaching assistant (TA) category students.

Oversee the exercise of selecting and allotting academic guides.

Oversee the admissions process for Master’s and Ph.D. programs, in coordination with the admission in-charge, if applicable.

Manage all conversion requests, including B.Tech to integrated B.Tech+M.Tech, M.Tech to M.Tech+Ph.D., and B.Tech to B.Tech+Ph.D. programs.

Act as the primary point of contact and mediator to resolve any issues between guides and students.

Serve as a member of the Senate Post-Graduate Committee (SPGC).
