Department Under Graduate Committee (DUGC)

The Departmental Undergraduate Committee (DUGC) is responsible for monitoring the academic progress of undergraduate students. It is supported by faculty advisors, who act as the primary point of contact for students regarding all academic matters.

The committee is composed of a Convenor, the Head of the Department, and at least four faculty members. The DUGC Convenor serves as the primary lead of the committee and is responsible for the following duties:

Roles & Responsibilities

Monitor and oversee the implementation of the B.Tech curriculum, ensuring that any changes or updates are tracked and incorporated.

Coordinate the offering of necessary courses and electives to meet the curriculum requirements for B.Tech, Minor, Honors degree, etc.

Provide support to faculty advisors, especially in special cases such as double majors or long leaves, and ensure that faculty advisors carry out their duties in a timely manner.

Oversee the allocation of duties to B.Tech teaching assistants (TAs).

Act as a member of the Senate Undergraduate Committee (SUGC).
