2-Year M.Tech under MOE Funding

Admissions will be based solely on the GATE score. Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree and a valid GATE score in Civil Engineering.

Two-year M.Tech admissions are offered in all disciplines under the MoE-funded mode through COAP.

2-Year M.Tech under Self-Sponsored Category

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree (B.E. or B.Tech) with First Class. Admissions will be based on a written test and/or personal interview. The date of the written test and interview will be communicated to shortlisted applicants. A GATE score is optional. Only the first preference of specialization indicated in the application form will be considered. Separate applications must be submitted if the applicant wishes to apply for more than one specialization. Applicants under this category are not eligible for a stipend. No relaxation or reservation policy will be applicable for the self-financed M.Tech program.

Hostel accommodation will be provided subject to availability, and the hostel fee is charged separately.

2-Year M.Tech under Govt. Lab/Industry Sponsored

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree (B.E. or B.Tech) with First Class. They should have at least two years of work experience and must be employed in a government laboratory or an industry that will sponsor the candidate and provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC). Admissions will be based on a written test and/or personal interview. The date of the written test and interview will be communicated to shortlisted applicants. A GATE score is optional. Only the first preference of specialization indicated in the application form will be considered. Separate applications must be submitted if the applicant wishes to apply for more than one specialization.

3-Year M.Tech under Project Funding

Admissions will be based on a written test and/or personal interview. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree and a valid GATE score in Civil Engineering. A valid GATE score is optional for applicants with at least six months of experience at IITH. IIT graduates are exempt from the GATE requirement but must have a minimum CGPA of 8.00.

Admission to the 3-year M.Tech program depends on the availability of project positions.

Selected applicants will be required to provide research or teaching assistance for up to 8 hours per week.
